Adaptive Dance
Developing dancers of all abilities, one dance class at a time!
Preschool Division Adaptive Dance (ages 4-6)
This 30-minute weekly class is designed for young dancers with varying levels of physical and/or cognitive abilities. Through engaging movement activities, creative expression, and foundational dance techniques, students develop coordination, balance, and confidence in a supportive and inclusive environment. Dancers are invited to participate in a year-end performance at the studio to share their talents with family and friends.

Studio Division Adaptive Dance (ages 7-10)
This 45-minute weekly class provides a welcoming space for dancers of varying physical and/or cognitive abilities to explore movement, rhythm, and self-expression. Using adaptive teaching methods, the class focuses on building strength, flexibility, and musicality while fostering a love for dance. Dancers are invited to participate in our year-end recital, taking the stage in a supportive and celebratory atmosphere.

Teen/Tween Adaptive Dance (ages 11+)
Similar to the Studio Adaptive Dance class, this 45-minute weekly session is specifically tailored for tweens and teens who want to experience the joy of dance in an inclusive and encouraging setting. With a focus on movement exploration, rhythm, and skill development, dancers gain confidence and a sense of community. Participants are invited to showcase their hard work by performing on stage at the studio's recital.

For all Adaptive Dance classes:
-
Dancers may attend class with a caregiver. If they attend independently, they will need to be independent in toileting needs.
-
Dancers should wear clothes which are comfortable for a range of movement. This can be traditional dance attire (leotard and tights, black pants and white t-shirt) or something else allowing for stretching and moving.
-
Dancers are invited and encouraged to participate in a year-end performance of a choreographed piece. This performance will take place in the spring at the studio in order to accommodate the needs of all dancers.
-
Dancers are continuously evaluated for readiness and inclusion into our studio level classes. We highly recommend students with special needs begin in our Adaptive classes before moving to Inclusive classes to ensure proper placement.
