"Ardyn attended the University of Southern California Glorya Kaufman School of Dance in 2015. There, she took a deeper dive into many of the forms she was introduced to at Barriskill including Ballet and Jazz. She focused specifically on House and Hip Hop, graduating with an emphasis in social dance practices. After graduation, Ardyn travelled throughout Europe attending international jams and Hip Hop Battles in Copenhagen, Zurich, and Amsterdam. She also taught for "Art of" Ballet Intensive using a curriculum she developed at USC alongside mentors William Forsythe and d. Sabela Grimes. After returning from Europe Ardyn signed with Go 2 Talent Agency in Los Angeles, where she now works as a freelance dancer, teacher, and choreographer. She is on part-time faculty at the Glorya Kaufman School of Dance and has taught for Hubbard Street Dance Intensive, the Paul Taylor Dance Intensive, and "Art of" Ballet School in Zurich and Madrid. Most recently, Ardyn was assistant choreographer to Ebony Williams for Doja Cat's 2022 Coachella set. She is forever grateful to her Barriskill experience for the technical foundation and artistic family it granted her." - Ardyn Flynt

"After I graduated from Barriskill, I stayed on as a teacher for a year while I auditioned for college dance programs. In the fall of 2020, I started my BFA in Dance at Montclair State University in New Jersey. Barriskill prepared me very well for studying dance in college. More than one of my teachers have commented on my strong technical foundation, which I got from my time at Barriskill. Barriskill also gave me the opportunity to study improvisation and choreography, which has been very useful at school. My time in the Barriskill Studio Company prepared me well for repertory classes at Montclair, because I was already accustomed to non-competitive repertory work. Barriskill’s emphasis on balancing technique, artistry, and finding your own personal voice as a dancer has served me quite well so far, and continue to do so every day."- Cate Cameron

Since graduating from Barriskill, I've been a full-time dance student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Barriskill's company environment prepared me for college dance life in a way I'm incredibly grateful for; my mentors and teachers from Barriskill have raised me with leadership skills and a creative mindset that has led me to work with renowned choreographers like Gerri Houlihan, Maleek Washington, and of course all of my outstanding professors at UNCG. Not only that, but my time at Barriskill has led me to excel and become a student representative for my class, pursuing full honors and a graphic design minor, and being a recipient of the Barthalamus Sophomore Research Award in which I'm conducting my own creative research (stay tuned for the film release soon!). I have also become a licensed yoga teacher, am working with the renowned B.J. Sullivan in getting certified in her up-and-coming safety-release dance technique, and will be attending the prestigious B-12 festival in Berlin this summer (2022) where I'll be working with Ella Rothschild, Zoe Gyssler, and Paul Davies. I'm also excited to announce that I'll be attending the Fini Dance Intensive in New York on a talent-based scholarship in August. I can’t thank my teachers at Barriskill enough for giving me the tools I needed to become a successful professional dancer. Here’s to more to come! - Clara Kennedy

"After graduating from Barriskill in 2019, I began earning my BFA in Musical Theatre at East Carolina University. The faculty at BDTS is like no other, and I was well prepared going into my collegiate level auditions and I felt confident in my dance abilities. I’ve since added another major to my course load. I’ll also be earning my BFA in Professional Acting and I’ve added a dance minor. This summer, I was offered a contract to perform in the Wild West Spectacular in Cody, WY. While I was there, I also earned the opportunity to be the Dance Captain. Part of my new job would include leading a thorough warm up for myself and the other dancers before every show and making sure I knew the choreography and details inside and out. While in Wyoming, I was able to teach a few classes at the local dance studio! Barriskill’s faculty have impacted the way I dance and the way I teach; I find myself saying some of the same things I heard as a student. While this was going to be a new leadership opportunity for me, I knew I could rely on my training from Barriskill. I’m so grateful for all the teachers I’ve had and the lessons I’ve learned, because I grew so much both in and out of the studio throughout the many years I spent here."
